I've narrowed down to 2 places to stay in Patong for the month. The one place is just a privately owned studio room with a small kitchen, pool, no maid. The other is a 21 room guesthouse with no kitchen, no pool, but maid service daily. The guesthouse does have a fridge. All other things being equal, which do you think you would choose for a month stay? I'm trying to watch my costs some. Would cooking some at home save me much over eating out, if I'm eating at the roadside stalls? What would a simple rice and chicken meal off the roadside cost me? I can't believe how hard of a time I'm having deciding between these two.
