Depends on what you mean.. Sometimes I am taking punts on stuff like this.. what I consider the high risk high return type punts.. Facial recognition and biometrics (palm scans) is a growth injdustry with the world as it stands.. Made some money with IDNX and followed visionics after the merger.. Dont have any currently but liked them as a gamble type punt.

Another big brother idea.. In the UK they are setting up a system to follow cars as it drives on every road and motorway. Its actually sold to the public as a navigation system, a vehicle tracking after theft, and a traffic congestion solution.. However I feel without doubt its also got massive between the lines survielance and gov control aspects but they downplay that angle. The idea that this system in place could be used as a per mile charging system for road tax has also been mentioned, that hints that it may become a requirement for vehicles rather than an option or become based around camera reading of plates in real time.

The company is called trafficmaster. What I like is that despite being a private company this has very beneficial government implications and assistance (installing equipment on all roads) that has essentially no competition. Government wants the company to do the job, its guaranteed a customer to foot the bill, so its not going away. This is another big brother camera on every street corner tool.. It will get pushed into being and become huge IMHO.

Just a couple of ones that go with my tin foil hat ideas of governments pushing new ways to watch populations and control them, turned into a personal profit for me.

Otherwise I have a spread of things over the silver, zinc, uranium, sector exposure.. I dont class those at 'hot picks' in individual stocks as I am trying to manage spreads of exposure.. I have everything from high risk exploration and juniors to unhedged main producers.
