Very recently I stayed at the Patong Villa Hotel and I was very disappointed to find out that they are no longer Guest Friendly. If you bring a guest now they'll charge you 400 Baht for the privilege. Are they sure they want to go down this route?? I for one will not want to stay there again.

Also I wasn't very impressed with their service. I did request a double bedroom, only to find out (after checking in) that I had been given a twin bedroom. After I complained, it took them 2 hours to put the two beds together and turn it into a double bedroom.

On top of this, I realised that their penny-pinching has reached an unprecedented level. If that was the only issue I had with them, I wouldn't be too bothered about it, however - if you take the joiner fee and the poor service into the equation - it probably is just the last straw for me.

Shame because I had some good times there.
