On my last trip 3 weeks ago,i was to fly cork-heathrow-BKK via doha with Qatar...My aer lingus flight to London was delayed because of bad weather..
We were eventually bussed to shannon airport (2hrs30m) but by this time i had missed my 8.30pm connection in heathrow...Aerlingus paid for about 20 people who had also missed connections to stay in a hotel in london for the night...I was put on the next available flight (2pm the next day).
This was delayed by an hour but the connection in doha waited for us as there was a lot of people going to Bkk..
Finally i get to Bkk but alas my luggage does not..
I along with about 6 others go and fill out the relevent forms...(My luggage was delivered to the hotel the next day).
All this time my tgf is waiting outside with a prebooked taxi for over two hours....
A total fcuking nightmare....I was about 38 hours from my front door to my hotel in pattaya..

Apart from that Qatar are an excellent airline and ill definately travel with them in future...
In economy they have dvd players in the seats, very attentative stewardesses and good legroom(for cattle class)

Thank god for travel insurance...
