I am not a happy man today. My trip to LOS in March is in doubt
I have been self employed since 1978 but today I have been informed that due to new laws within the Inland Revenue, I will now be classed as "employed as from 1st Oct,having worked for the same firm for 2 years.
The immediate effect of this means I will be over £500 per month down on my income. Over the last month I have been checking the cheap airline web sites and accomodation sites and gradually getting my plans together for a trip next Mar/Apr.Now its in doubt.£6000 a year is a lot of income to lose and its not like its only myself I have to pay for.My last trip cost me nearly £3500, less food and drink and I have serious doubts about affording this one.
The wife and children aren't too happy either.I had told them we were going again and they were all really looking foreward to it.
Hopefully I can get over this by working extra hours and cutting back.I was going to pack up smoking anyway!! Maybe I can find a way because I really need this holiday at Easter time.I work without any other breaks for 12months at a time,and to read this forum every day keeps the dream alive.
Time for costcutting and heavy saving.The trouble is I cannot behave like a hermit and not have a few beers at the weekend with my mates.To live a life of not going out at all and being a tightar*e just isn't in my nature.
Anyone got any ideas how to do it?
I could always sell my daughters on ebay
