I used to use the free Avast antivirus on my old PC and had no problems.
As long as you download the updates regularily, same as any anti virus, it does a decent job.

I have to ask myself why Im paying for Norton, when there are so many free anti virus programmes available, and I suppose I would say after using the 60day free trial on a new PC, I was impressed with the ease, and the functions it has, so paid for the year.

AVG seems to be another popular choice for free anti -virus software.

Its all a matter of choice I suppose, as long as your choice does the job.
