If summer breeze is full (going there the next weekend
) a cheap alternative would be CN Hotel, basic, but covers most of the bases, no pool though if thats a big point for you.
Bit like yourself, i hadnt been abroad on holiday for near 38 years till i went last year, so going solo to thailand was a bit daunting, but this forum has all the info you'll need to know. Made the whole trip a doddle.
