Six Nations

The tournament is on us again, and England are playing the worst rugby in living memory. Andy Robinson is gone and Brian Ashton’s first squad is looking, at the very least, a little adventurous.

It looks like sicknote himself will start against Scotland on Saturday, presumably on the grounds that he is the only semi-fit fly half in the country. Andy Farrell is set for a start at inside centre as well, so fair play to the new coach for taking a few chances.

I don’t see the Six Nations as a tournament England can win this time, but it would be good if they can compete. For me, Ireland will win with either Wales or France second, depending on which France team turns up. If France don’t finish second I believe they will end up below England in fourth. I also think that Scotland will spring a surprise somewhere along the line.

My prediction is:

1 Ireland

2 Wales

3 England

4 France

5 Scotland

6 Italy
