The only time I really hated the weather in LOS was my Songkran trip in April/May a few years back. It was unbearably hot. I don't know why anyone would want to go to LOS for Songkran. BKK was just a big oven, felt as if I was being fricaseed. Phuket was only a little better. It was plenty hot and stifling air when you hit the bars at 10:00 PM. Samui was better, but only if you stayed within 50 yards of the water. Fortunately, I had a beach bungalow.

As for humidity, I cant' imagine it being much worse than PGH, PA in July and August, when I grew up there. The air was so thick, when you walked out of an air-conditioned place, you felt the pressure of the air pushing against you like you walked into a vise. Just the same, I will take 89 degrees and humidity, rather than high 90's and over 100. On days like that, be it BKK or HKT, I can't walk half a block without the back of my shirt getting drenched in sweat. And I am normally a person who only breaks a sweat when doing intense physical labor. As a teen, I used to run 20 miles every day and never broke a sweat.

So, if you have never experienced humidity before, it might take some getting used to. But if you stay in during the day, the evening will usually bring some relief. At least the sun won't make it worse. And, if ever in doubt, just slow it down, relax, keep sucking on a water bottle, and make sure you get enough salt. You might want to bring some salt tablets with you.
