It sounds like the side street to Martinis is still as uninviting as it was in 2005.You'd never think there was a popular bar down that pot-holed alley.Though once I got past the metal detectors,it was my favorite hangout.I went there with a couple of girls from Flamingo's including "Mum" from your pictures.Small world.
In Angkor my guide was very good at knowing when to take me to the temples to avoid the crowds and group tours,but it sounds like January is a lot busier than November when I went.
