If using Windows XP you can go to
Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP microsofts page to download thier XP powertoys.
One of these is simply called image resizer. It adds a right click option to 'resize image' and can make small medium or large (VGA SVGA and XGA) resized images leaving the orional intact.
Can do entire folders and batches.
