15K is a realistic budget so you should find quite a few in yer budget....they won't be luxury places but reasonable appts..........
as for food........you can get good food for 20-30 bht on the street along beach rd so I doubt if you will cook that much in the end.......

Since im into weightliftning, im eating a shitload of food. Even if I eat cheap thaifood by the street it end up costing me 100-150 bath anyway to get me filled up. At least it did in patong... I promissed myself getting a room with kitchen next time IŽll stay long time. It really sucks spening 1000 bath a day on food.
Yea, that sounds like a good idea - taking a walk early evening and checking out the neighborhood before I settle down. Think iŽll have my girl checking out the room at soi 7 tho, sounds allright.
