I chose my annual cover based on the fact that I was insured for riding bikes over 125cc provided that I was wearing a helmet and had the appropriate licence to ride (which in Thailand -speaking as a Brit - means an international licence too). It took a lot of reading small print for each policy before I found the right one - they are really very rare (most only cover less than 50cc) and the premium was about double the cheapest but worth it for me as I always hire a bike out there.
I got the policy through moneysupermarket.com
