Absolutely. Part of the problem is you have people jetting in from all sorts of different time zones. 24 hour party works a lot better in that situation. Vegas doesn't close at 1am, nor should phuket.

Problem is not rule of law but rule of the day.

Everyone in phuket, officials included understands the issue. But they are powerless to do anything but enforce this moving target. They cut some more slack when they can, tighten things up when they must. Just have to roll with it.

Perhaps one day Thailand will decentralize and Phuket will have some control over laws. Perhaps once again Thailand will have an elected government...
