No experience with the refund process, and come to that no experience with Air Asia, but I would imagine it would be long winded and high cancellation/processing fees involved.

Just with the convenience of the through transit booking TG straight through, I dont understand why you guys insist on trying to save a few baht in transferring to the LCC's, as it involves so much manual effort on your behalf. I would prefer to spend this time in the lounge or bar.

Would be interest to learn how much you do save on changing to an LCC for the BKK/HKT leg. Would need to be several thousand baht to make it even worth while. Your case is different dawsey with so many in your party.
