The Province is great for exploring the beaches and scenery... Lots of island day trips.. Limestone structures.. Things to see non nightlife.. Stuff like rock climbing and white water rafting (I am waiting for the rain to start and will be giving this a go) activities are based up here.

For tourist zone theres Railey and Ao Nang.. Ao Nang has a BG zone also in a kind of hidden area set one street back from the beach rd.. Theres also an irish bar there but its not a real full on scene..

Theres some larger populated islands for exploring and staying on (I have read about Koh Jum and want to check it out soon).. And in general the scenery and locale are interesting..

Krabi town itself seemed kinda dull (theres another irish bar somewhere) but I havent really tried exploring it..

All in all its a good spot but if you get bored of beachy scene then limit it to a few days.. Always good to want more than to book too long and be bored..
