Great place

I love krabi Town. I stay at the City Hotel (Your Krabi | Page not found is right in Krabi town itself. It's a comfortable place without being anything outstanding and the beds are very firm but is really well located and everyone is very freindly. Theres a night market straight across the road which is really cheap to eat and some nice restaurants near by.

Theres also a department store next door with a good sporting section where you can find some cheap fishing gear (if your into that) and then just walk down to the river (2 minute walk) and hire one of the long tail boats to take you fishing up the river. There is some great sights along the river and some real secluded places to drop a line. It's a great way to kill a few hours and to put a smile on a locals face when you give them your catch.

At the basement level of the store is a bar/restaurant which sells some great food but the menus are all in Thai so take someone with you who understands the lingo.

The guy that works at the front desk of the hotel is a mate of a mate and is a real character. I couldn't walk past him without him offering to send a girl up to my room. I didn't take him up on his offer so i don't know what the girls were like.

Krabi Town is probably not every one's cup of tea but well worth a night or two to decide if it's for you. The traffic is not quite as manic as other places either so hire a motorbike and just have a good look around.
