A SEX toy forced an Australian airport to shut down this morning, after security staff mistook it for a bomb
Airport staff and holiday-makers were evacuated from Queensland’s Mackay Airport early this morning while police investigated the suspicious vibrating package.
Cafeteria manager Lynne Bryant and her staff were cleaning tables when they noticed a strange humming noise coming from the rubbish bin.
She told The Sydney Morning Herald: "It was rather disconcerting when the rubbish bin started humming furiously.
"We called security and the next minute everybody was being evacuated while they checked it out."
It took police an hour to identify the package as an "adult novelty device" believed to have been thrown into the bin by a passenger.
