Now my budget was 7000max.. well the sales guy there was very good at what he did and I ended up spending 12000 nearly double but believe it or not this was haggled down from 20000.
The question is I thick I may have over payed after reading some of the posts hear.
What did I get I hear you ask: 1 cashmere suit 2x shirts (cotton I believe) 1x spare trouser 2x ties
The quality of the material felt quite good he said at first it was from the medium range then at the end he said it was his highest range. I did not believe him.
Also do they normally take full payment up front?? I gave him 10000 I said he will get the rest on completion. He was not happy with that at all.
By the way he said it will be ready tomorrow.. that seems very quick to me.
So have a been a mug?

Patnut,
I have used a tailor in a large hotel complex in Patong several times. On my last visit seven months ago I bought a Cashmere suit with two pairs of trousers plus four LS business shirts. I paid 8900 baht which is probably more than I could get elsewhere but I find that the quality and service are excellent. The location possibly inflates the price but can also give comfort to the buyer as I would imagine good standards would need to be upheld. I only pay on completion which after minor adjustments is about three to four days.
I am comfortable and happy with what I pay. If you are happy with what you have acquired then don't get too hung up about it.
By the way your taxi ride was probably added into the price too. I assume you didn't pay yourself and the Bellboy would have got some commision. It all adds up.
