I just returned home (about 11 hrs ago) on Thai Airways nonstop BKK/LAX. Flight time (eastbound), was 14:35. The westbound leg (LAX/BKK) is considerably longer...headwinds. I've used this flight 6 or 7 times, since it's inception in Dec 05. The longest flight ws 18:48....JEEEZZZUZZ!

Despite the long flight time, I prefer the nonstop, to a stopover in Osaka...

The premium economy seat is vastly better than a regular economy seat. The extra $250, is well spent for this upgrade. I don't find that much difference between it, and their business class. Seats not that much better in Biz...and the service (food, drinks, SERVICE) sucks, in all cabins. The extra $3000 is a waste...for business class!

When I say the service sucks....I mean, the food is generally crap. The wine, champagne, and appertifs, are sub standard...as compared to say, Singapore Airlines. And once the flight attendants toss you your meal, it's a race to get it cleaned up....so they can turn the lights down, and go sit on their butt's for 4 or 5 hours. Really, I've timed it....once, I didn't see a F/A walk through my section, in over 3 hours. Oh well, for $1450 round trip (and nonstop)...I guess it's OK.
