Don't forget that your luggage will arrive in Phuket on the "international" luggage carousel. I forgot that and waited ages at the domestic where my flight's luggage had been unloaded. If your bags are checked from an international flight, they arrive at international luggage collection

If booked straight through with Thai , you should get your boarding pass for Bangkok-Phuket issued in U.K.

You will stay 'air-side' at Suvarnabhumi and just transit/transfer to your domestic flight. When you arrive at Phuket you will be directed to 'International Arrivals' and clear passport control and customs there.
