Quick update on Norton 360.
After uninstalling it, and using AVG / Ad Aware/ Spybot I was still having internet dropouts. I have a cable broadband with Linksys wireless router supplying my desktop and 3 other laptops in the house.

I rang the broadband supplier (Virginmedia) and they came last week to replace the box and a seperate new modem. I have now configured it all, and the internet is stable.

So I thought I'd try Norton again

Reinstalled this afternoon and its a piece of crap
Absolutely nothing but trouble, even with internet security turned off, firewall off I couldn't connect to Outlook Express. Connection to the internet dropped every 10mins, and the pages loaded really slowly even after a reboot of the router and modem.

Well its had its last chance. Uninstalled it again, and all is fine

I have never come across a piece of so called PC protection software that is so abysmal in its faults. Norton have lost another customer for good.
