It ties into the observation that stunners are often starfish. Stunners know they'll be barfined or picked up every night, sometimes two or three times per night, so they have no motivation to exert themselves. They don't care whether they have repeat customers or not.
An average-looking girl hopes the customer will come back to her several more times and therefore does her best to please him. On my first visit to LOS many years ago, the standard advice was never to tell a girl you were in town for only a few days, always tell her you'd be staying several months for work or business. That way she'd give you her best. I don't agree that dishonesty is the best policy - the girls then figure all customers are liars or cheats and act accordingly themselves - but I certainly understand the basis of not telling a girl it will only be a one-nighter.
