I don't see why you are pondering this question. You are entitled to what you are making in your current position, plus a 10-20% hardship allowance for being in Thailand regardless if the company is headquartered in Thialand or Canada, or wherever. Remember, you are the one taking the risk of moving overseas...

But, to answer your question specifically, I would say that 120,000 baht per month would be about the same lifestyle (in living arrangements anyway) to making C$100,000 per year.

It sounds like the Thai firm is just trying to cut you down to local expenses, but I wouldn't give in regardless of your desire to live in Thailand. That is what they are playing you on...
