yea your right IJ here we have very few races over more than 2400m on the flat.
just the melbourne,sydney,perth and adeilade cups at 3200m and a couple of lower class races.
brisbane cup now 2400m got caught out the other day thinking it was 2 miles.
Also have noticed that over there it happens quite often a horse first run out of spell at 3000 to 4000m,here they start out at 1200m and work up to distance races over 5 to 6 runs.
