Or,if you think you may have some messed up files? Then try the following:
To do it, from the run menu, type in cmd. After a DOS prompt opens up, type chkdsk /f. Windows will say that the disk is in use, and that's fine. Reschedule to do it next time Windows restarts by hitting the "Y" key and then Enter. Then type exit -hit the enter key - Restart and let chkdsk check and fix errors.

Possible disk corruption has nothing to do with accessing http internet resources.
