I thought I would write about an experience I just had and you could tell me if Im going to expect this the whole time in Thailand.
I saw an add for a rental property in the Phuket Gazette (
Phuket Property for Rent - RAWAI BEACH STUDIO, online English newspaper for Phuket, Thailand, with daily news, classified ads, yellow pages, business listings, upcoming events, event calendar, phuket events ).
I called the owner as it has very limited information. I asked if it was possible to email me a few pictures of the property. Below is our conversation:
Me: Hi, im calling from Australia and was interested in renting your property for the whole month of August. Could you be so kind and email me a picture
Him: NO! If i walk there I charge you BHT 2000.
Me: Ok, is it very far from where you live?
Him: you are rich, this is for people with no money, Im not going to rent to you, when you come to Thailand you stay in hotel for 1000BHT a night. She will decide for you, when you come.
Me: She will decide? Who is she?
Him: Your wife
Me: Im coming alone and how do you know if i am rich
Him: I do not rent to you, you get hotel
me: why are you being so rude? All i want to know is if you can email a picture?
Him: you go with her and get hotel for 1000BHT per night, you no stay here
beep beep beep....... (phone hangs up)
Ok guys? What the hell happened in t at conversation that mad him such an asshole?
