Often its not possible for the child to travel, visa's not forthcoming, schooling cannot happen, the child has no / not enough english, the mothers visit not full time, circumstances simply dont allow it.
Normal 3rd world problems sadly.
Now I think about it.. 6 - 7 is too young.. By age 10 I guess they may have more ability to handle things like this more..
