Thanks for the info. To my knowledge, a Schangen visa doesn't cover the UK. I am not sure about Ireland.
Amongst others it covers Holland, Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany, France Austria and a few more.
In another post (forgot which one though
) I mentioned the English language link of the Dutch embassy in Bangkok. There you can find exactly what is need for a Schengen visa if you apply at the Dutch embassy.
