Hello ellabbs

Poigniant post - I am in the process of doing the exact same - gawd hope it's not for the same lady!!!!!!!!

Sorry I cannot offer you a pre-drafted version, as I too am a virgin when it comes to these, but I was only today at my immigration office and talking to one of my colleagues (I work with them, not for them, so sort of have an added edge on the inside stuff, as it were - but still have to go through all the proper channels, so please dont think I am suggesting that) and they- well she actually, a very nice girl/lady by the name of Monica, advised that basically it should be addressed to Whom it may concern, outline the reason for the letter I.E visa application for a certain person

Go on to describe who this person is and where she comes from!, how you met and how long you have known each other.

Time s you have been with one another - not in the sexual sense BTW - as in how many times you have met her etc... What she does, what you do, how long you have done it....workwise that is...

How often you keep in contact, proof will be required.

And all that sort of stuff. She went on to add that a well put together sponsorship letter, with references to your accommodation status, employment details, history of contact, verification of financial assistance (for Her in LOS!) etc. can save the embassy staff in BKK an awful lot of time.

I cannot claim to be an expert, from only a brief preliminary chat with our imm staff but they did also mention to me that the embassy in BKK is at the moment only accepting applications via an agent?

I found this a little odd, as their web-site doen't state this and maybe someone else on the board could verify this for us, but even so - from what I gleamed this afvo it was more a case of the sponsorship letter stating that you are/will be fully responsible for all finacial and accommodation needs of your intended visitor during their stay, along with providing proof of the necessary paperwork, with regards your bank a/c statements, phone bills, communications, residential status etc... etc...

Sory if I'm telling you what you already know, but I too sat down this morning and started typing one up, and oh too soon thought to myself - gawd, this is crap - hence I went to the office to ask just what it was they were really looking for!

I shall start re-doing mine tomorrow. PM me if you still need an indicator and I will try too help but maybe there are more experienced BM who would be able to offer assistance.

best of luck
