NZ is amazing mate. I'd move there tomorrow if I could.

I really flagged with Patong a few weeks ago, so did a bit of travelling round Krabi, which really perked me up again. Some of the beaches and islands there are amazing. The trouble with Patong is there's just so little to do if the weather's shit, which it has been for ages. I find the place fundamentally annoying on many different levels - the fake plastic smiles - like every day is NYE or summat - the pestering, the fact there's always something under your feet or about to hit you on the head, the lack of pavements, bloody mopeds constantly running you down, an inability to cross the road, no driving sense, the fact that every Thai person knows all your intimate **** ups the moment you make them, the fact that every Thai seems to know who you are, whilst you've not got a clue who they are. Etc. Obviously it has compensations, but it's not the paradise island it's portrayed as.
