I think I agree with Ivanlim here. The guy sits in an airplane for about 12 hours to meet with you, so he is very interested in you. You say you are a bit shy on this situation, but he may be even more shy than you.
Think good what you would really like yourself. What is your impresion of him? Do you (start to) like him?
And make sure you tell him so in clear language, so mis-understandings can be avoided as much as possible.
