I have just been in Bangkok and stayed for the 6th time in the Nana Hotel, Soi 4, (Soi Nana). Quality fairly good and cheap rates.
You can drag a dog and a pony show into the hotel, nobody mind, however the guests have to leave their ID at the security guard next to the lift.
The swimming pool area have been rebuild including a big Jacuzzi (placed in the corner hiden away allowing for some norty play).
Very nice indeed. But the sun will go away around 16 due to the building around the pool.
There is also a bar and disco which is heavy populate in the night and morning as NEP, just across the street, closed at 01:00. Even the parking place in front of the hotel is crowed until 04 in the morning.
