I used to do the BKK > HKT trip in business and pay the extra, just to get more miles (double) which meant the next trip LHR to LOS came about a tad quicker
nothing whatsoever to do with me being a big lump and the seat being bigger

I once flew BKK > HKT with Thai Air in business and got row 1. When I turned up at the gate, there was a 747 parked outside and sure enough, I got a first class seat
