I just flew Thai Business class from Phuket to Don Mueang. A quick review:

1. Took a taxi meter to the airport - if you are looking for a nice guy and not too crazy driver, here is the number for Wanchok 087-2768992

2. Arrived at airport and the lines to get in were 50 people deep at each departure level entrance...somebody posted that a good idea is to enter on the arrivals level -- my taxi drove down there and there was no line for entering.

3. Nice thing about the Thai lounge is the free internet wifi, just ask the lady for the password. The snacks were very average. Good selection of juices and colas though.

4. Normal business class configuration. When I booked I asked for a window seat but on the phone I was told they cannot book the seats ahead of time on the domestic routes, just have to ask at the airport. Nonetheless, I must have window seat in my Royal Orchid traveler preferences or something because I had one pre-assigned.

5. Service on the plane is nothing to get excited about. No alcohol. Soft drinks offered when you take your seat. A meal was served but it was some processed chicken meat to make it look like a drumstick. Nothing else, no dessert, etc. Also they did not offer anything to drink until everyone had long since finished eating. Never came around with coffee or tea, only the tray of soft drinks. At the end they give you a hot towel.

6. For once, it seemed that all the business class luggage came out first, so that was cool.

7. At Don Muang, just head up to the departures level and hop in a cab - faster and cheaper (no airport surcharge).

8. They did announce that if you are holding a Thai airways boarding ticket that you get a bus transfer to the new airport - not sure how that would work if you hold a boarding pass for another airline, or if they charge anything. It sounded free if you have the Thai boarding pass.

9. From touch down at Don Muang to Victory Monument -- 55 minutes. Not too bad.

10. I think I still prefer Nok Plus.

Cheers, Ro-baht
