Well I have booked a superior at Secrets for 7 nights then will perhaps opt for Areca if they have space for the other three nights - going to go with the flow. I used to write guide books and once stayed in the six-star Faisalia Hotel in Riyadh - a butler, a button to open the curtains, a bathroom the size of an apartment, no booze, no birds - give me a guesthouse perched on top of a Pattaya beer bar anytime.....
