Quoted from TanMan:
And those two that I mention were MrDK and Nanook (sorry to single you guys out but I am just trying to make a point here). Yet, now they are seen by the Board as two of the most affable and likeable people here. And, rightly so in my opinion based on their posts, seemed intent, and the quality of their comments

Steve, is this the "we", you've been looking for, and harping on about? 5555

The Board demographic averages are IMO 35-45, male predominately. Why not get the input of some people out of this range and take it in stride? Learn something or at least remember something.... anyway, that is what I do..

TanMan, a web forum is something like a neighborhood, that you consider moving into.

When you plan a move (residential), you check out the prospective neighborhood, for compatibility, location, etc. And, you'd likely inquire and get a "feel", for your new neighbors...before moving in.

The same applies, in a web forum. Most, would do a little browsing, to get a feel for the board...and it's members (general) outlooks. (your demographic point)

So, let's say, you're 23 yrs old. And, you think that anyone over 30yrs, is out of touch, and irrelevant. (SoCal)

But, you want to move into that nighborhood anyway, despite the fact that your new neighbors may be "different" from you.

What do you do, as a (new arrival)...roll in with "guns blazing", admonishing your new neighbors...saying they're too old and fat, to get on with the "loud punk music", you set off in the front yard, on the first night in your new home?????

Probably wouldn't be warmly welcomed there, either!

Same thing goes on this board. Before "shooting from the hip", a new member should read and digest, that which is the "norm" (lack of better term), on this forum. Then either join in (as in...when in Rome), or find another board (home), where their views, may be better accepted.

SoCal, and a couple of others, are/were so conflicting and antagonistic in most of their posts....they should find another home!

Just my opinion.
