Masterwoodsman, the Beach Club is still there. I dont go to KL often, so i dont havt any updates on the night scene there.
Seriously, opening a micro brewery here aint easy at all.
The German Pub i used to go dont even carry any more German Beers due to the high import tax.
Pubs selling imported beers by Barrels charge about MYR 30 a pint.
Sin Tax (Alcohol) goes up every year.
Guess how much Brewerkz will charge for a pint then?
The market is so dominated by Carlsberg and Tiger.
Unlike in Singapore where different pubs sell different beers. Some at afforadable low price. The German Pub in Holland Village sells Erdinger. Some sell Hoegarden on tap.
Only beers i have seen on Tap in KL are Tiger, Carlsberg, Guinness. The not so common ones Kilkenny, Old Specken Hen, Hoegarden(only seen in 1 bar) Strongbow. All these at very high price.
Muslims do drink. Everybody knows that. I have seen pubs chase them out cause they arent suppose to drink in public and the Pub will risk getting closed or fined.
