Oh yeah and some places do have extra charges for electricity and water though those are the combined hotel/serviced apartment joints. There's the deposit for the minibar also if you drink their rip-off water instead of stocking up from 7/11. But don't worry about m8 it's basically f*ck all extra, be more concerned about whether they have joiner fees and for pattaya especially the location/distance of the hotel from the hot spots.
