i dont buy too many euro luxuries when i am in thailand, but for sure i have noticed the price fluctuations on items favoured by farangs.
slow moving items, bonus figures for extra sales, rebates from suppliers all way up to the pricing policy in supermarkets.
one thing i did learn last trip was to buy the johnnie walker green label in laos at the duty free, 100$ us for 4 bottles, at suva it was more like 200$.
mind you my father whom i buy it for, drinks it at the same rate as the cheap and nasties he buys back in oz.
told the wife next trip its a border run for her and her mum to stock up on the good stuff.
father in law and i will sit and have a drink (beer for me and green tea for him), father in law will not be dragged to laos for any reason.
