I used to use LCC's a lot, now however i stick only to the major airlines... Lufthansa etc. However you think how many times a day 1-2-go fly to Phuket, and this is the first accident I can recall. This could have happened on any airline realistically.

Anyway isn't 1-2-go owned and serviced by Thai? I could be wrong, but I am sure they owned 1 LCC.

From news reports on the net it is oriental thai airways. Don't know if the same same.
But also from news sites it seems the plane approached too fast and the weather conditions very bad. Maybe no ones fault just a accident that any airline could have had.
My only concern is that other planes would have been landing so why did this one crash. Pilot error perhaps.
The biggest concern I feel however is the casualties and the people who unfortunately did not survive they are more important than the airline itself as they will fly another day, unlike the poor passengers affected by this tragedy.
As you say LCCs are as good as any airline but conditions and mistakes happen to the best of them. We just hope it doesn't happen to us when flying.
All the best to the injured, I hope they all get through this disaster.

Best wishes
