Sounds like as he knew the company aircraft 4 minutes ahead of him reported windshear near to landing yet had landed safely, he, being supposedly their most experienced pilot, would lose face if he couldn't land too

Ya, that is what I said on another thread. I also posted on another thread that a Thai airways pilot said if there are reports of windsheer then the only thing you can do is try to stay clear and wait.
