I think we are seeing this a little bit now. As foreign money is more reluctant to enter the Thai economy, the thai economy is starting to crawl. Seems this is making them bitter about the foreign influence and they continue the trend of walling off.

I read an article that the international community is absolutly fed up with the temporary government. So much so they are willing to give everything from the past year a free pass in the hopes that a new government gets in and moves things forward.

But as you point out it could be too late as the party could already be over. In that case I think they will wall-up even more.
