I think it quite normal for people to be apprehensive so soon after such a tragedy.
As far as my situation goes, I have always favoured Nok Air and Air Asia as budget carriers to fly the BKK-PHK leg, and that hasn't changed. I was really impressed by all aspects of my Nok experience.
