I am pretty seasoned in all classes of service, but strictly from a value point of view, nothing beats PE. From JFK to BKK the average premium in price is about $10 per hour. On my last trip of 17 hours I slept about 13, meaning that I was 100% ready for action upon arrival.

This is the answer to what I was just thinking. I have flown Thai economy from Shanghai to BKK before and my knees were jammed into the seat in front of me. Knowing that it is 8 inches more makes me want to try out Thai PE from JFK.
Also looks like Thai flight is shorter than United and gets you into BKK around 4pm or so where United is after 11pm(at least the flights I was just looking at).
Thanks for the info. Now I just need to find a time to return. Probably sometime between March-May.
Can't wait to start the count down.
