I agree with LivinLOS. What kind of massage did you try. Swedish massage is not at all the thing to help your probelms. And not the Thai oil massage either. I recommend the traditional Thai massage.
In 2001, I had an accident which ruptured a disc in my spine. I was bed-ridden for two months with pain of the most incredible intensity in my back With and legs which made it impossible to walk. After the third month I had some improvement and was back on my feet.
I had been planning a trip to LOS before the accident, but after it seemed an impossibility because my back became very painful if I sat in a chair for more than an hour, and the plane ride to LOS was 20+ hours.
One night I was feeling sorry for myself, thinking about the dream vacation that didn't happen, and then I had a strange premonition. Something in me told me that if I didn't go now that I never would. That I would get caught up in the events of my life, and the dream would be lost, and years laterI would wonder wistfully about what would have happened had I gone to LOS.
With my premonition in my head, I was scared to go, but even more scared not to .Scared that maybe my life was going downhill, slipping out of my control. So I got mad at myself, and I said, "F*ck it! I'm going. I don't care if they have to carry me off the f*cking plane in a stretcher."
The plane ride was excruciating. Pain, pain, and more pain. A kind Indonesian lady befriended me and talking to her helped. She wanted me to go to Indonesia with her, but I declined. In LOS, the rest, the swimming, and mostly the sex seemed to help my back. But most nights it would still ache pretty bad when I sat on the barstools, so I would just drink unitl I couldn't feel the pain anymore.
Then when I arrived in Chiang Mai, I was tired and aching a lot form the short plane ride from BKK. I saw a sign that said, "Thai Massage....Head-Feet-Body....2 hrs....300 Baht." Sounded good. There I met Oui. My saint. My miracle worker. My angel with the healing hands. After massages from her every day for a week, I was healed. No pain. Never had a back problem since then except for when I was in a motorcycle accident in Patong last spring.(Different story. Different masseuse. Same result).]
I had had back problems for many years, many times a herniated disc before finally the ruptured disc. So this cure made me feel better than I had in many, many years!!!
