I was having all kinds of trouble trying to book online regardless of what I did. I was not getting the option of a direct flight back, but could see the flight that was a direct return to JFK on the schedule page.
I don't mind the 12:40am departure that gets me to JFK around 7am the same day. Gives me a full day in LOS and short evening before heading back to America. My last flight was 6:50am on a Saturday to Japan.
Trip is a long way off from now, but glad I have the longest and most important flight taken care of.
If my plans were to get fowled up (which I don't anticipate), it would only cost me $100 of the air fare for a ticket refund which is cheap. Not going to LOS would be more of a loss than 100 bucks.
