There used to be, and still may be there, a snake restaurant on the way to Central or Big C. If u are going from patong u would turn right in kathu at the lights, then right again at the T-intersection lights heading towards Central. The restaurant was(and very well may still be) on the right hand side of the road towards the top of the first uphill left curve. Its a very thai looking place.
I am not sure if my directions are clear enough, but I have heard that this is where one would eat snake if they wished to. Not sure if its cobra or not.
I know a group of Italians that dine there every yr on their annual trip to phuket.
havent been by there in a while, but its worth having a look
