So say this guy didn't know before hand about this and had a regular Thai girlfriend/fiance even and flew in from Bangkok with her to stay in one of these hotels. On checking-in reception would say to him he would have to pay 1000baht a night extra for the lady to stay with him.
It seems that you pay for a double occupancy room but if the lady staying with you is Thai then you pay extra...that would really p#ss me off... yet if you pitched up with a Caucasian tart you would be welcomed with open arms.

I do understand some hotels (family hotels) have a high joiner fee, and dont want to have the traffic it involves with single people bringing new partner every day, every night, and sometimes more than one a day!
You solve that problem easy with booking two people when you checking in! Is not more complicated than that! But it is easier if you have a name to put on the booking to ;-)
