DIS, I guess I don't fully understand, what your proposition is, with (your) young lady.
Are you saying, that you are inclined to offer her enough money, to keep her from "working"? If so, do I understand that you would be OK with her, remaining in Patong?
The usual (proclaimed) scenario with BG's is, that they're working to support their family. (Mom & Dad, kids left from deadbeat Thai father, etc.) If that's the case, they most usually are anxious to quit the bar scene, and return to living at home, with their family.
If your "sponsorship" is given, in that context...then I think that it is a good thing. (providing that you and the lady are serious, about a LT commit)
Otherwise, it's my opinion, that giving money to a BG and leaving her in the bar...or, even in Patong (bar scene) with all the bars, girlfriends, ex BF's, customers etc., could be a mistake. Too many "temptations", shall we say.
